Our wish is that River Park will become a place vibrating with Bratislava’s cultural life. It has already extended cultural activities from the downtown to the Danube promenade.
See what comes next.
However, art has also found its permanent place in River Park. When you walk along the promenade you will discover:
The first statue to be unveiled in River Park is the Mythical Ship by the renowned Czech academic painter and sculptor Jaroslav Rona (1957).
"The statue should pay homage to this magnificent river and to the city that was built on its riverside, there where various cultures alternated. I would be glad if the viewer asked himself about the sense of the path of the human race through time and space,” the author said.
Rona started his work on the statue back in 2008. It was symbolically unveiled on 17 September 2010.
